Usujiri Jinjamae
Usujiri Jinjamae is a year-round dive area in the town of Usushiri (Hakodate City, Hokkaido), noted for strong biodiversity and a well-balanced marine ecosystem. Water temperatures range from very cold winter lows around 2°C to summer highs around 21°C. Seasonal highlights include whitefish hatching in March and lingcod breeding from March through April, when egg masses can be observed. Planktonic life such as criones and “jellyfish riders” may also be encountered.
