About Jardin Japonais
Jardin Japonais is a compact boat dive north of Malendure in the Cousteau Reserve, built around a small reef sec with an arch and a short drop-off. The route stays tight and colorful, with coral heads, gorgonians, and busy fish life around the rock and sand structure. It is usually straightforward with a local guide, but a north-south current can make part of the crossing feel driftier. Shallow edges can also work for calm-water snorkel visits.

Scuba Diving
Start on the sec, work the arch and tunnel, then follow the reef edge and return over sand or the mooring line.
Freediving
Not a primary freedive target; if an operator allows apnea, keep it to the shallow top of the sec and calm conditions only.
Snorkeling
The shallow top of the sec can work for calm-water snorkel sessions, but the arch and drop-off are better left to scuba.
