Sec Pate is an advanced boat dive on a dramatic Guadeloupe seamount.
Sec Pate is an advanced boat dive on a dramatic Guadeloupe seamount.
Sec Pate is an advanced boat dive in the Saintes channel, centered on a submerged volcanic pinnacle that rises out of very deep water. Expect a weather-dependent drop to the pinnacles, a strong-current channel crossing, and a profile that rewards precise buoyancy and a good skipper. The payoff is a dramatic seamount covered in coral and busy with pelagic life.

Depth range, seasonality, and planning context.
Reported Depth
15m - 200m
Depth Note
The pinnacle rises to around 15m, the planned dive profile sits around 20-40m, and the base drops far deeper than the working dive.
Best Season
April to November
Typical Conditions
Open-channel conditions with strong current, clear water, and a long boat ride that rewards a clean weather window.
Hazards, restrictions, and access requirements.
Key Hazards
Safety Notes
Use a boat team that will abort on the wrong weather, keep gas management tight, and treat the site as a serious advanced dive.
Access Restrictions
Boat only and weather dependent; book it with an experienced local operator.
Legal Notes
Follow marine-park and operator rules in the Saintes channel.
Community notes to help plan your visit.
Scuba Diving
Plan a drop onto the pinnacles and work the three peaks rather than trying to cover the whole seamount.
Freediving
Not a freedive site; the depth and current demand scuba and a boat plan.
Snorkeling
Not suitable as a snorkel-first site; the draw is the seamount and current-swept reef at depth.
