Do I need a local operator for Fendy Rock?

Yes. Use a Kota Kinabalu or Sepanggar dive operator so the boat transfer, entry point and timing are handled for you.

Does Fendy Rock have good coral?

Coral is secondary here. Fendy Rock is more of a sandy macro slope than a coral showcase, so the payoff is small-life searching and a relaxed profile.

How clear is Fendy Rock?

Ordinary visibility is usually workable rather than glassy, so plan for around the mid-teens meters on average and better water when weather is settled.

How much current does Fendy Rock usually have?

Current is usually light. It is a good site for a relaxed, slow-paced dive, but the briefing should still match the day's conditions.

Is Fendy Rock a boat dive or a shore dive?

Fendy Rock is a boat-access site from Sepanggar Island, so plan it through a dive operator rather than as a walk-in shore entry.

Is Fendy Rock crowded?

It is usually quieter than the main city-island circuit, which makes it a decent pick when you want a slower macro day.

Is Fendy Rock good for newly certified divers?

Yes. It is a sandy, light-current boat dive that suits a slower pace and macro searching more than big-wall or deep-profile diving.

What do divers usually see at Fendy Rock?

Nudibranchs, snapper, schooling fish and hawksbill turtles are the headline sightings, with other small reef life around the slope.

When is the best time to dive Fendy Rock?

Aim for the calmer, drier part of the year if you want the best water clarity; diving still runs outside that window.
