Easy Ponza wreck with visible machinery and light penetration.
The wreck is typically run as a local operator dive and is reached by dinghy.
Relitto LST 349 - Poppa is the stern section of a WWII landing ship wreck in Ponza’s western waters, reached by dinghy and usually dived as an easy wreck profile. The wreck rests in navigation trim over sand, with the propeller, engine, and partly penetrable sections still visible. It is a good Open Water wreck dive rather than a pure deep or technical site, but divers should still treat the overhead portions with wreck-diving discipline. Marine life around the wreck includes groupers, moray eels, seahorses, eagle rays, and occasional dolphins.
