Wind-sensitive Tenerife cove dive with volcanic ledges and drift current.
La Caleta is a wind-sensitive Tenerife shore dive in a cove by Adeje, with volcanic rock ledges, a drop-off, and plenty of marine life. When the sea is calm enough for a safe entry, the site can feel like a drift dive and regularly turns up grunts, jacks, stingrays, angel sharks, morays, octopus, cuttlefish, and barracuda.

Safety Notes
Watch wind, swell, and current closely before entering. Use overhead-environment precautions in the small caves and ledges.
Access Restrictions
Best entered from the cove when sea conditions are calm; parking is limited and the entry is weather-sensitive.
Legal Notes
Use the normal shore-access route and skip the entry when swell or wind makes the cove unsafe.
Community notes to help plan your visit.
Scuba Diving
A shore entry leads to volcanic ledges, a drop-off, and small caves that suit controlled drift or lookout-style diving.
Freediving
Short breath-hold sessions are feasible when the cove is calm, but the site is better suited to scuba because current and surge can build.
Snorkeling
Snorkeling is only comfortable on very calm days; otherwise the cove entry and current make scuba the better choice.
