Faster Map + Bigger World + Log Flow + More
Overview
Two big weeks! The map is fast and filterable, there are way more places to explore across scuba, freediving, snorkeling, and chill hangouts, and adding spots or logging dives is now quick and simple, + some sweet profile badges when you cross different milestones.
π Whatβs new
β‘ Massive Map Spot Expansion + More filters

Coverage is now much broader across scuba, freedive, snorkel, and low-key chill spots.
I rebuilt map clustering on the server because the dataset exploded. Result: smooth globe movement, clean cluster expansion, and deeper filtering integration on the map.
π Try it: Open the map, toggle a few tags, and zoom into your area.
π§ Smarter tag filters
Filter by spot tags like cenote, wall, cave, shallow-freediving, wreck, shore, boat, and more. The map reflows in place without lag.
New Spot Tag Filters:
Reef, Wreck, Cave, Cenote, Wall, Pinnacle, Blue Hole, Artificial Reef, Lake, Lagoon, River, Kelp Forest, Muck, Deep, Indoor, Training Pool, Swim Spot, Snorkel Spot, Freedive Line Spot, Freedive, Chill Hangout, Great Scuba
π Add Spot & Log is stepped and intuitive rating system
A stepped flow shows only the minimum required to create a spot or log a dive. Casual users can be done in seconds. Power users can expand details for depth, conditions, gear, detailed rating aspects, and more.
The rating system UI and setting has been vamped up, easily see the ratings you care about, and set.

Badges now track real milestones: spots added, dives logged, freedive depth tiers, dive types, and location-based logs. Highest tiers surface first on your profile.
