The Bay Islands marine park and Roatan Marine Park moorings protect sharks, turtles, conch, lobster, and parrotfish.

Peak encounter windows historically in Mar-Apr and Oct-Dec around the north side banks and seamounts.

Calm south side for courses; north side and offshore mounts for advanced drifts.
