What It Feels Like
Turkey rewards divers who like variety more than extremes: reef-and-wall diving on the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts, swim-throughs and canyons around Kas, and a real wreck menu from classic ships to local training wrecks. Most trips are day-boat or short shore entries, so you can keep a relaxed schedule and still log a lot of bottom time.
The southern Mediterranean coast stays warmer longer, while the Aegean runs a bit cooler and can be windier in summer. Visibility is often in the 10 m to 30 m range on good days, with the clearest water most common in late spring and early fall.
Use these as anchors when planning: Kas for canyon profiles like Kanyon Dimitri Wreck, Bodrum for quick reefs like Fridge Bodrum, and the Izmir coast for easy day boats to sites like Adabanko Reef.

Operator Checklist
- Pick your coast first, then pick your town.
- For the longest warm-water season: favor the Mediterranean coast (Antalya Province). Kas is a strong base for structure diving, with signature options like Kanyon Dimitri Wreck and Stonehedge.
- For bays, sailing culture, and easy resort logistics: use the Aegean. Bodrum is a common base, with quick access to sites like Fridge Bodrum and Big Reef.
- For quick access plus big ruins days: the Izmir coast around Kusadasi is efficient, with reef days near Adabanko Reef and Pinebay Reef.
- Season strategy: aim for May to June or September to October for a balanced mix of warmth and flexibility. In July and August, plan earlier departures to beat wind and boat traffic. In winter, keep plans conservative and pick calm windows on the Mediterranean side.
