Season planner for Addu Atoll (Seenu Atoll)

Maldives Meteorological Service describes two seasons: the southwest monsoon (wet-season) normally mid-May to November, and the northeast monsoon (dry-season) January to March, with April and December as transitional months. For Addu, expect warm water year-round, more wind and rain in the southwest monsoon, and generally calmer, clearer conditions in the northeast monsoon. Plan channel and manta sessions by tide in any month, and keep flexibility during the wet-season months.

Ideal: Northeast monsoon (dry season): calmer weather and commonly better visibility for reef and wreck days.

Plan Carefully: Southwest monsoon (wet season): more wind and rain; visibility can drop with plankton and sea state can limit boats.

Even in wet season, rain is often showery with sunny gaps.
