Overview
Equator-side mantas, a legendary wreck, and Maldives island-hopping by road
Addu Atoll (Seenu) sits near the equator at the far south of the Maldives. It is known for channel drifts, manta encounters, and one of the country's standout wreck dives, the British Loyalty. Addu is also different topside: several islands are linked by causeways, so you can bike or drive between local neighborhoods, beaches, and protected wetlands. Weather follows the Maldives monsoon pattern: the southwest monsoon normally runs mid-May to November, the northeast monsoon runs January to March, and April and December are transitional. Build your plan around tides for channel dives, keep the wreck day conservative, and reserve at least one day for Addu Nature Park and a causeway loop.
