Big animals and mixed-water biodiversity on a quick boat hop from Byron Bay
Key fee: Australia travel authority (ETA/eVisitor/visitor visa as applicable)
Varies by nationality and visa type (ETA app service charge is often listed as AUD $20)
Confirm these fees before you book so your operator plan and day budget match what you will pay onsite.
Byron Bay does not have a standalone tourism levy for visitors on arrival, and there is no dedicated marine park tag for recreational divers and snorkelers at Julian Rocks. Your main costs are the operator trip, any Australia visa or travel authority required for your passport, and local logistics like parking and transfers. Cape Byron Marine Park includes sanctuary zones with strict no-take rules, and commercial operators typically operate under permits and safety plans.
