Scuba here is a geological and historical road trip. Sea Spirit launches from Giardini Naxos for Isola Bella, Blue Cave and Greek Columns; DNA Divers works the lava coast around Aci Castello; and Plemmirio-accredited centers such as Capo Murro Diving Center manage the southeast's regulated routes. Expect rocky reefs, walls, arches, grottoes, Posidonia margins and occasional archaeological or wreck interest rather than tropical coral. Beginner dives exist, but the destination becomes richer with solid buoyancy, an SMB and comfort around walls. May to October offers the broadest schedule, while Plemmirio designates selected permanently moored sites for year-round use when weather and park operations allow.
