When To Go

Season planner for Galapagos Islands

There are two main seasons. Dec to May is warmer and calmer with better average viz. Jun to Nov is cooler with stronger winds, chop, and powerful currents that attract big pelagics. Liveaboards time Darwin and Wolf itineraries for Jun to Nov whale sharks. Western upwellings can make water drop to 16°C with sharp thermoclines.
