Scuba

What It Feels Like

Huahine scuba is intimate, local, and varied. The signature day is a pass dive at Avapeihi or Fitii for schooling fish, gray reef sharks, blacktips, barracuda, batfish, rays, and tide-shaped current. On calmer or training days, Fa'a Miti, the Fare Plateau, and lagoon walls keep things accessible with coral, macro life, turtles, and easy boat logistics. Advanced divers can ask about Les Arches or Les Grottes when conditions, certification, and operator judgment line up. Expect local decision-making rather than fixed big-resort schedules.

Planning Playbook

Operator Checklist

  • Book directly with Huahine's small dive centers before arrival in July, August, September, October, and holiday periods. Pacific Blue Adventure and Mahana Dive are the key local names, and schedules can be intentionally small. Expect site swaps if pass current, swell, or wind makes a plan unsuitable. Bring certification cards, dive insurance details, and any personal computer or mask you rely on. Huahine is not a self-service shore-diving island, so plan tanks, guides, and boat departures through operators.
