When to go

Best time to visit Huahine

Huahine is diveable and snorkelfriendly yearround, but the easiest overall planning window is May to October, French Polynesia's drier, less humid austral winter.

Best overall window

May to October, with April and November as useful shoulders

Drier austral winter, lower humidity, comfortable land touring, and water around 27°C to 28°C.

Outside that window

Warm, humid wet season with tropical showers, higher storm monitoring, and occasional high swell or transport disruption.

Choose your trip style

Start with the overall answer, then switch only when scuba, freedive, snorkel, or topside timing changes the trip in a meaningful way.

Seasonal cautions
  • Jul to Aug: Peak travel months bring higher demand and can coincide with breezier trade-wind days.
  • Dec to Mar: Wet-season showers are often brief, but heavier systems can affect roads, ferries, visibility, and boat plans.
