Khao Lak

Anita’s Reef is a calm dive site on the east side of islands 5 and 6 in the Similan Islands, featuring a gently rolling reef slope that follows the island’s edge. The profile starts shallow and gradually descends to the deeper sandy areas. Marine life includes a mix of reef fish and sand-dwelling species, with sightings in the sand such as stingrays and gobies, plus reef fish like angelfish and butterflyfish. Macro life is also mentioned, including frogfish and scorpionfish, and schooling fish are seen around the main boulders.

Ao Sapparot (Pineapple Bay) in the Surin Islands is a shallow, sheltered bay with calm conditions suited to relaxed diving. The seafloor is mainly sand with scattered coral patches and small rock formations. The site is commonly used for beginner dives and training, and its protected nature also makes it suitable for night dives. Macro life can be abundant around the coral and rocky patches.

A gentle, slightly sloping reef with many coral blocks interspersed with small sandy patches. The site is described as simple but colorful, and is considered suitable for beginners. Marine life sightings can include turtles, swarms of small fish such as snappers and yellowtail barracudas, as well as starfish and nudibranchs.

This site features large, scattered boulders set on a soft sandy bottom, creating overhangs and sheltered pockets. The mix of structure and sand makes it a good place to explore multiple micro-habitats in one dive. The reef is described as having abundant, intact hard corals with a variety of reef fish and small critters.

Reef dive located at the southern tip of Similan Island 5. The route passes between rocky sections and includes a small overhang, and it can be dived as a drift when current is present. Common sightings include boxfish, pipefish/sea needles, sea snakes, turtles, blue-spotted stingrays, and nudibranchs.

Beacon Bay is a popular dive site known for night dives, with a sloping reef that starts shallow and drops into deeper water. The reef is dominated by hard corals and includes the Atlantis X wreck, a sunken liveaboard resting along the slope. Visibility is generally good and currents are described as mild to moderate, making it suitable for a wide range of diver experience levels.
