What It Feels Like
Koh Tao packs a full dive week into short boat rides: shallow coral bays for easy warm-ups, deeper granite pinnacles for schooling fish and the occasional whale shark, and the HTMS Sattakut wreck as a clear navigation and skills playground. The island's dense dive-center scene around Sairee and Mae Haad means frequent departures and flexible schedules. Operators such as Crystal Dive and Big Blue Diving run daily trips, plus full-day excursions to Sail Rock when seas allow. Expect typical depths in the 6 m to 30 m range on most recreational dives, with currents most noticeable on offshore pinnacles.
