When to go
The Lisbon Coast is most predictable from late spring through early autumn.
Best overall window
Warmest stretch for ocean time, water often 18°C to 21°C and more reliable calm mornings.
Outside that window
More Atlantic storm systems. Water around 14°C to 16°C and swelldriven cancellations are common.

Spring macro season (nudibranchs and small life)

Berlengas seabird colonies
Best for Topside, Snorkel
Apr to Jul
Boat trips to Berlengas during late spring and summer overlap with the most active seabird season.
Winter surf spectacle at Guincho
Best for Topside
Nov to Mar
Even when diving is limited by swell, winter is prime for watching Atlantic surf at Praia do Guincho and nearby viewpoints.
Best odds of calm seas and clearer water
Best for Scuba, Freedive, Snorkel
