Overview

Aegean reefs, blue caverns and Delos antiquity from a lively Cycladic base

Mykonos is not a remote liveaboard wilderness. It is a local-operator, day-boat and beach-base destination where divers mix Aegean reefs, wrecks, amphora-strewn rock, monk-seal habitat and Delos culture into one compact island trip. Certified divers target ANNA II, Lia Reef, Kalafakiona Reef, Agia Anna Wall and Tragonisi Caverns. Snorkelers use sheltered south and east beaches such as Lia, Paradise, Kalafatis and boat days to Rineia. Freedivers can train locally, but Mykonos is more about guided recreational apnea than big-depth competition. The planning variable is wind. May-June and September-October usually give the best balance of warm weather, manageable sea state, operator schedules and lighter crowds, while July-August brings warm water, premium prices and Meltemi-driven site swaps.

What Makes It Special

  • Local day-boat format

Short transfers from Paradise Beach, Lia Beach and other local bases make Mykonos easy to combine with hotels, beaches and nightlife.

  • Wreck plus reef variety

ANNA II, Kalafakiona Reef, Lia Reef, Agia Anna Wall and Tragonisi Caverns give certified divers a compact set of wreck, reef, wall and cavern profiles.

  • Culture that matters

Delos is not filler between dives. It is one of the most important archaeological landscapes in the Aegean and changes the whole feel of the trip.

  • Mixed-group friendly

Non-divers can beach-hop, tour Delos, cruise Rineia, shop Chora or relax at a beach club while divers run local morning trips.
