Roman cargo, Adriatic walls, quiet coves, and two islands of striking contrast

Zadar Airport is the most convenient air gateway for Pag. A rental car or transfer reaches the island by road over Pag Bridge, so no ferry is required for the southern approach. Travelers driving down the mainland coast can also take the year-round Prizna-Zigljen vehicle ferry to northern Pag; Jadrolinija lists a 20-minute crossing and additional summer sailings.
Rab has no bridge. The shortest common vehicle approach is the Stinica-Misnjak ferry, operated by Rapska Plovidba. Jadrolinija also runs Valbiska-Lopar from Krk, which can pair naturally with Rijeka Airport. Exact sailings, vehicle queues, and weather notices must be checked for the travel date.
Jadrolinija's Rijeka-Rab-Novalja catamaran gives foot passengers a direct link, reaching Rab in about 1 hour 45 minutes and Novalja in about 2 hours 40 minutes from Rijeka. It is not a vehicle transfer. Car-based travelers normally return by Rab vehicle ferry and continue by mainland road to Pag Bridge or Prizna, so a two-base itinerary should allow a substantial transfer block rather than treating the islands as a quick hop.
A rental car is the most practical choice for dive gear, two-island transfers, Pag's long road distances, and remote Rab trailheads. Pag has road access over Pag Bridge; Rab requires a vehicle ferry.
