When to go
May through September is the most practical overall window, with June through August easiest for a first visit because daylight is longest, seabird colonies are active and charter schedules are most dependable.
Best overall window
Longer daylight, the driest average months clustered in late spring and early summer, active wildlife sites and latesummer water near 13°C to 14°C.
Outside that window
Winter air commonly averages about 4°C to 6°C, with wind chill, short daylight, reduced opening hours and a higher disruption risk.
