Portsea Hole
About Portsea Hole
Portsea Hole is a submerged remnant of the old Yarra River located about 500 m from Portsea Pier. The hole begins around 14 m and features a prominent vertical wall to the north. The wall extends for roughly 75 m and drops to sand at about 27 m, continuing into a sand bowl that bottoms out around 33 m. Small overhangs along the wall provide habitat for many invertebrates and fish, including Blue Devil fish.
