Arrecife Norte sits on the northern end of the reef platform around Isla Fuerte. The site begins in shallow reef at about 8 m and drops along a vertical wall to around 15 m before continuing down between coral mounds. The reef is described as being in excellent condition, with a wide variety of reef fish and occasional sightings of tarpon, cod, nurse sharks, and stingrays down to a maximum depth of about 24 m.
