Granite secca with classic grouper action
This protected-reserve site is normally reached by a Bonifacio operator who can pick the day around sea and wind.
Lavezzi Citta' delle cernie is a classic Bonifacio boat dive on a granite secca where the wildlife is the point: big groupers, schooling fish, and healthy gorgonian cover. The rock rises fast from surrounding depth, so the dive rewards controlled buoyancy and a clean descent more than casual sightseeing. It is a protected-reserve outing, best approached with a local operator who can pick the day around sea and wind. Expect a real mid-range dive rather than a beach entry.
Site Conditions
Safety Notes
Keep buoyancy tight around the rock, stay within reserve guidance, and treat the descent as a genuine mid-range dive.
Access Restrictions
Protected-reserve procedures apply and the site is normally dived from Bonifacio by a local operator.
Legal Notes
Reserve rules govern access and wildlife interaction; do not feed or otherwise interfere with the fish.
Community notes to help plan your visit.
Scuba Diving
Best for certified divers who want a classic Mediterranean secca with lots of fish life and precise trim work.
Freediving
Not a casual freedive site; the depth and boat setting make it a proper scuba target rather than a breath-hold playground.
Snorkeling
Snorkeling belongs more on the reserve trail than on this secca.
