Tauchparadies Scubalu is a beach-based dive area in Surendorf on the Eckernforder Bucht, centered on a coastal reef that is heavily fissured and bordered by sandy patches and seagrass meadows. It works well as a shallow shore dive and training ground, with a dive base directly on the beach and seasonal fish life, flatfish, crabs, mussels, snails, and other small marine life across the reef and sand. The site is best approached with controlled buoyancy because the reef has many small passages and the beach area is shared with other water users.
