About Cathedral
Cathedral is a shore-access wall and cavern dive on Amorgos with a bright chimney opening, dramatic light beams, and a deeper wall run beyond the main feature. The site rewards calm buoyancy and steady pacing through the shaded rock, with familiar Mediterranean fish life around the structure. Entry and exit are best handled patiently, because the open-facing section and overhead terrain are more comfortable when conditions are settled.

Safety Notes
Use careful buoyancy and keep the route organized through the overhead section. The site feels more comfortable for divers who already handle shore entries and wall-and-cavern profiles well.
Access Restrictions
Best for divers comfortable with shore entries and overhead structure; not a casual first-ever dive if surf or surge is building.
Legal Notes
Follow any local site, marine-area, and access rules posted on arrival.

Local Intel For Cathedral
Community notes to help plan your visit.
Scuba Diving
Cathedral suits divers who are comfortable with shore entries, buoyancy control, and a wall-and-cavern profile. The light shaft and deeper wall section make it a memorable relaxed-pace dive rather than a fast drift.
Freediving
Freedivers should keep the dive conservative and work the brighter upper section and wall face rather than the overhead opening. The best reward here is the light and shape of the site, not pushing depth.
Snorkeling
Snorkeling is limited to the upper water and the entry area. The main cavern and wall features sit deeper and are better suited to scuba or trained freedivers.
