Use an authorized Cinque Terre dive center for access and zone compliance.
MV Equa (Wreck) is an offshore Ligurian wreck dive in front of Riomaggiore, reached by boat from the Manarola side and suited to experienced divers who are comfortable with depth and overhead structure. The wreck is known for jewel anemones, lobsters, chromis, sponges, and oysters, but the dive is just as much about timing the protected-area rules and choosing a calm day with enough visibility.

Site Conditions
Safety Notes
The wreck is deep and has overhead structure, and currents can stir suspension enough to shrink the good visibility window.
Access Restrictions
Boat-only wreck access inside the Cinque Terre Marine Protected Area; use an authorized dive center and follow permit rules for the zone.
Legal Notes
Cinque Terre MPA rules allow individual scuba in Zones B and C from 1 May to 31 October with authorization, and authorized dive centers can guide dives in the protected area.
Community notes to help plan your visit.
Scuba Diving
A deep wreck dive on a preserved submarine chaser with deck guns, a winch, and sheltered spaces that make it a classic advanced-profile dive.
Freediving
Not a baseline freedive site; the depth and overhead structure make scuba the practical choice.
Snorkeling
Not a snorkel-first site; the wreck sits well below the surface and is meant for underwater exploration.
