The Scorpion is a protected Medhufushi giri with caverns, sandy breaks, and dense fish life, best for calm boat dives and careful buoyancy.

About The Scorpion

The Scorpion is a small Medhufushi giri wrapped in caverns, ridges, and sandy lanes, with the route circling the reef rather than dropping straight off it. The protected profile makes it a good match for calm, methodical diving and tight buoyancy, while the caverns and overhangs hold dense fish life. Macro hunters get plenty to work with, and the site still feels structured enough to reward planning. It is more about texture and shelter than raw depth.

Safety & Access At The Scorpion

Hazards, restrictions, and access requirements.

Key Hazards

Overhead environment

Access Restrictions

This is a boat-dived cavern site, not a casual shore entry, and the overhead sections need proper cave/cavern discipline.

Local Intel For The Scorpion

Community notes to help plan your visit.

Scuba Diving

Boat dive around a small giri with encircling caverns and ridges split by sandy lanes; the cavern ring starts around 10 m and some sections reach to 30 m.

Freediving

Not a casual freedive site. The caverns and ridges reward scuba-style route control and buoyancy more than surface-only use.

Snorkeling

Surface-only snorkeling misses the caverns and the fish concentrations, so this is mainly a scuba site.
