Wemeldinge Oost-Linda is a tide-driven Oosterschelde shore dive.
Wemeldinge Oost-Linda is a tide-driven Oosterschelde shore dive.
Wemeldinge Oost-Linda is a classic Oosterschelde shore dive around the eastern harbour head at Camping Linda. Divers walk to the pier, enter on the right side, and spend most of the dive around basalt blocks and the pier edge rather than a calm sheltered reef. The site is tide-driven, with strong current outside the slack-water window, limited visibility in many reports, and cold-water life concentrated around the hard structure. It rewards careful timing and good route discipline, especially when staying clear of the harbour entrance and using the pier layout to plan a controlled return.

Depth range, seasonality, and planning context.
Reported Depth
1m - 30m
Depth Note
The dive runs along the harbour head and underwater pier, with a deeper outside section and a nearby wreck area.
Best Season
Year-round; slack tide and low-wind days are the best windows.
Typical Conditions
The outside can have quite strong current and visibility is poor; the bottom is mainly silt.
Hazards, restrictions, and access requirements.
Key Hazards
Safety Notes
Stay with the blocks, keep the pier crossing timing in mind, and treat the outside current as a serious hazard.
Access Restrictions
Do not dive in front of the harbour entrance, and plan only around low tide or slack water.
Legal Notes
Use the designated entry by the harbour head and respect the no-dive zone at the harbour entrance.
Community notes to help plan your visit.
Scuba Diving
Experienced shore divers use the basalt-block structure around the harbour head, but the outside current can be very strong.
Freediving
Not a freedive site; plan around tide windows and experienced shore-diving skills.
Snorkeling
Not a snorkel-first site; the entry and current suit experienced divers rather than casual snorkelers.
