Shore entry from Goat Island beach into a protected bay; usually easiest in calm weather, but rain, swell and tidal movement can cut visibility and add current near the channel.

About ABC Bay

ABC Bay is a sheltered shore site on the northwest side of Goat Island, where a sandy bay gives way to kelp-covered rock and cliff-lined edges inside New Zealand's oldest marine reserve. It suits gentle shore dives and snorkels in calm weather, with snapper, blue maomao, rays and other temperate reef life often seen around the kelp and shallows.
