Black Rocks Lagoon offers two different dive moods in one area: a sheltered inner lagoon with shallow reef and fish life, and a more exposed outer reef with pinnacles and gullies beyond the lagoon edge. Divers use the protected water as the easier option, then only extend outside when wind, swell, and current allow. It is a good example of a site where the inside and outside sections should be planned as different experiences rather than one uniform dive.
