The Nursery is a shallow dive site with depths of around 5–20 m. The area features cracks and boulders covered in colourful invertebrates and kelp. Juvenile fish are often seen here, along with schools of blue maomao and other reef fish. Seals may be present on the rocks and sometimes join divers in the water.
