Reef
Usually dived by boat from Sesimbra, Arcanzil rewards calm weather and tide-aware timing more than deep profiles.
About Arcanzil
Arcanzil is a shallow offshore rock off Sesimbra, near Cape Espichel, with an irregular crest and crevices that make the dive feel more like a broken reef than a flat bottom. It is usually planned as a boat dive from Sesimbra, where tide state and sea conditions matter more than distance. On calmer days, the site suits relaxed Atlantic reef exploring and close-in fish watching. Expect nudibranchs, octopus, spider crabs, and mixed fish life around the rock.

Safety Notes
Check tide timing before entry, keep an eye on the crest, and treat visibility as variable rather than guaranteed. If the sea starts to move, cut the dive short.
Access Restrictions
Boat access is the practical default; do not plan it like an easy shore entry.
Legal Notes
The broader Sesimbra/Cape Espichel coast sits within protected coastal waters, so follow park and operator rules.
