Exposed Väderöarna wall dive with rich cold-water marine life.
Södra Ärholmen is a classic Väderöarna wall dive with a steep drop-off, mixed ledges, and plenty of cracks for life to hide in. Divers can expect a rich cold-water scene with nudibranchs, crabs, lobsters, cod, and other fish, plus kelp and seaweed on the rock. It is best handled as a boat dive for experienced divers who are comfortable with exposed archipelago conditions.

Site Conditions
Safety Notes
Use conservative gas planning and a steady buoyancy hand around the wall, and respect the reserve restrictions.
Access Restrictions
Boat access and reserve rules set the pace; plan around bird and seal protection areas before going ashore.
Legal Notes
Parts of Väderöarna are protected by bird and seal protection areas, so local landing and anchoring rules matter.
Community notes to help plan your visit.
Scuba Diving
A boat-access wall dive with cracks, ledges, and rich cold-water life for divers who are comfortable in more exposed conditions.
Freediving
It is not a primary freedive target because the site is a deeper boat-access wall with cold-water conditions.
Snorkeling
This is a scuba-first site; the wall, cold water, and outer-archipelago exposure make casual snorkeling a poor fit.
