Stora Knappen is an exposed boat dive in northern Väderöerna built around a step-like wall with a deep drop-off and lots of rock-face structure. The cracks and ledges hold spider crabs, edible crabs, brittle stars, and many nudibranchs, while current and swell can make the site feel demanding. Plan a guided boat day, expect cold-water conditions, and choose a settled forecast because the exposed outer wall is much less forgiving than a sheltered island dive.
