About Titties Bay

Titties Bay is a shore-entry kelp cove in Cape Columbine where you enter on the north side and work along the rock face toward the south side. It is a macro-focused dive with crayfish and octopus in the crevasses, but the outside sea state matters a lot, so swell windows are the difference between a relaxed dive and a messy one. Best conditions are on calm, low-swell days.

Safety & Access At Titties Bay

Hazards, restrictions, and access requirements.

Key Hazards

Cold waterRestricted accessSurgeWaves

Safety Notes

Do not drop in when the outside sea is up; the entry and cross-over become messy fast and the cove is best treated as a calm-day site.

Access Restrictions

Enter from the north side and keep close to the rock face; outside swell size is the main gatekeeper for a safe day.

Legal Notes

Cape Columbine is a protected reserve area with shared access and visitor rules, so keep to the designated entry and avoid disturbing the rocks or marine life.

Local Intel For Titties Bay

Community notes to help plan your visit.

Scuba Diving

The site is best for shore divers who can read swell and exit cleanly, with kelp and macro life along the rock face.

Freediving

Freediving only makes sense on very calm days; the entry and exit get awkward as soon as swell rises.

Snorkeling

Snorkeling can work on calm days for kelp and macro viewing, but the cove is not a good choice when the outside sea is moving.
