Koh Pung
Boat-access drift dive over soft-coral boulders

Reef
Best for guided boat dives with current-aware timing; the site can swing from gentle to fast drift, so plan around moon and pickup windows.
About Koh Pung
Koh Pung is a boat-access drift site in Tarutao National Marine Park, set in the narrow channel between Koh Rawi and Koh Butang. Rocky boulders, soft-coral slopes, and moon-driven flow make it a good fit for current-comfortable divers who want a dynamic reef rather than a fixed, easy route. Calmer pockets behind the island reward slower macro searching once the flow eases, but the dive still needs careful timing and a guide who knows the pickup plan.
Safety & Access
Site Conditions
Strong current
Safety Notes
Match the dive to current comfort, listen closely to pickup instructions, and avoid treating the site as an easy default if the flow is building.
Access Restrictions
Boat access only. Strong flow windows and marine-park logistics make local operator support the normal way to dive it.
Legal Notes
Inside Tarutao National Marine Park, so park rules and seasonal closures apply. Check current access dates before planning a trip.

Local Intel For Koh Pung
Community notes to help plan your visit.
Scuba Diving
Typical scuba depths range from about 10 to 25 meters.
Freediving
Not a primary freedive site. Short surface looks may work in calm windows, but the current-driven channel favors scuba more than breath-hold dives.
Snorkeling
Snorkeling is best only on calm guided windows. The shallow coral can be attractive, but current and pickup timing can shorten surface time.
