Chicken Wreck (M.V. Glaros) is a boat-only Red Sea wreck near Jeddah, resting on its side and wrapped in coral growth. It is shallow enough to feel approachable, which is why many guides treat it as a good first wreck dive rather than a hard penetration dive. The name comes from its frozen-chicken cargo, and remnants can still be found inside the wreck. Expect a calm, colorful wreck with pipefish, lionfish, moray eels, barracuda, and other Red Sea fish around the structure.

Safety Notes
Treat any interior access as overhead space; stay within guide direction and keep buoyancy tight around the wreck and masts.
Access Restrictions
Use a boat and a local operator; this is not a shore-entry site.
Legal Notes
The site is normally dived as a guided Red Sea boat wreck, so local operator procedures and briefing matter.
Community notes to help plan your visit.
Scuba Diving
A relaxed wreck dive with a side-lying hull, coral-coated structure, and enough relief to keep the route interesting without becoming overly technical.
Freediving
Not a freedive target; the wreck sits around 20 m and is really a scuba dive.
Snorkeling
Not a snorkel site; the wreck is too deep and structure-heavy for casual surface viewing.
