Sheltered east-side bay on Koh Racha Yai with coral, sand, and easy diving.
Boat logistics are routine, but local trip operators and site briefings make the day easier.
Racha Yai Bay 3 is the smallest bay on the east side of Koh Racha Yai, with a calm white-sand basin, hard coral gardens around Lucy Reef, and a gradual slope into deeper reef. It is a classic beginner-friendly dive with an easy training feel, and the bay also works well for snorkeling or a relaxed drift toward Bay 2 when conditions line up. Boat trips from Phuket are routine, and the sheltered setting is the main reason the site stays so popular.

Access Restrictions
Boat access is the normal route for dive trips, but the bay is also used heavily for snorkeling and training use.
Legal Notes
Shared-use bay; follow operator site plans and keep clear of boat lanes.
Community notes to help plan your visit.
Scuba Diving
A calm bay dive with coral patches, sand flats, and an optional drift line toward Bay 2 from the north side.
Freediving
The calm water and shallow coral flats make controlled breath-hold practice possible, but the deeper sections are better left to scuba.
Snorkeling
Snorkeling is a normal use case here because the bay is sheltered and shallow in the inner section.
