Karon cubes: offshore concrete artificial reef off Karon Beach.
Karon cubes: offshore concrete artificial reef off Karon Beach.
Usually run as operator-led longtail boat dives from Kata beach.
Karon cubes is a concrete artificial reef off the front of Karon Beach in Phuket, built as two cube stacks over sand. It is a longtail-boat dive with a compact layout that rewards slow, controlled scanning rather than a big swim. Fishing traps around the cubes and the site's advanced rating make it better for confident divers than casual beach-day snorkelers. Expect rays, snapper schools, frogfish, lionfish, and macro life.

Safety Notes
Fishing traps around the cubes are the main hazard; keep clear of them and maintain a tidy profile around the structure.
Community notes to help plan your visit.
Scuba Diving
The dive works the cube stacks and sandy gaps rather than a reef wall, so buoyancy control and slow searching matter more than covering distance.
