Jina Wall is a boat-access wall dive with potato grouper.
Jina Wall is a Mafia Island wall dive on the northern tip of Jina Island, with shallow caverns, overhangs, and a gravel base. The signature encounter is a very large potato grouper that often comes close, while pelagics, schools of fish, and rays can appear in the blue. It is a better fit for divers who are comfortable on a wall profile and who time the dive around the tide.

Depth range, seasonality, and planning context.
Reported Depth
8m - 26m
Depth Note
Small wall with caverns and overhangs that tapers to a gravel field at the base.
Best Season
October to February usually brings the clearest water, while the rougher mid-year period can make the site less forgiving. The best tide windows are around neaps and the turn of the tide.
Typical Conditions
A compact wall with shallow caverns and overhangs, a gravel base, and tide-sensitive current near the edge.

Safety Notes
Keep tight buoyancy around the caverns and overhangs, and do not force the open-water edge when the current is building.
Community notes to help plan your visit.
Scuba Diving
Depth range is 8–26 m along a vertical wall with shallow caverns and overhangs, finishing over a gravel field.
Freediving
Potentially workable for experienced freedivers on calm tide windows, but the wall, overhangs, and current make the site more comfortable with a proper boat plan.
Snorkeling
Not a primary snorkel site; the wall structure and tide-sensitive edge are better handled with scuba or a very controlled freedive plan.
