This is a freshwater river dive in a short, spring-fed section of the Comal River flowing through New Braunfels. The commonly dived stretch starts just downstream of the Wurstfest Grounds and continues to just before the Tube Chute. The river supports fish and aquatic plants typical of a spring-fed system, including bass, bluegill, Rio Grande cichlid, and blue tilapia, along with vegetation such as cabomba, Ludwigia, and vallisneria.
