Buzios is a practical, varied scuba base: short boat rides to rocky islands, easy bay dives for training, and the option to chase clearer upwelling water on Arraial do Cabo day trips. Conditions are typically beginner-friendly when the sea is settled, but still feel like the Atlantic, with variable visibility and occasional thermoclines. Local operators (including PADI centers like P&P Mergulho) run half-day trips that leave your afternoons free for beach time.
Classic Buzios boat diving on rock structure and sandy channels, with frequent turtle sightings and depths that suit relaxed multilevel profiles (often 8 m to 20 m).
One of the easiest entries for check dives and underwater photography, with shallow structure and typical depths around 5 m to 15 m.
Sheltered bay that often stays calmer than the openocean beaches, making it a good training, skills, or long shallow dive option when swell is running elsewhere.
A popular Arraial do Cabo area dive on a fullday itinerary from Buzios when you want a change of scenery and often clearer water.
Regional wreck option for divers who want steel structure and schooling fish.
