When to go
Fakarava works yearround, but the easiest overall planning window is May to October, the drier and cooler period in French Polynesia.
Best overall window
Drier weather, warm water around 26°C to 28°C, and the most comfortable allaround trip window.
Outside that window
Hotter and more humid, with more weather uncertainty and higher need for flight and boat buffers.
Start with the overall answer, then switch only when scuba, freedive, snorkel, or topside timing changes the trip in a meaningful way.
