When To Go

Season planner for Isla Mujeres

Isla Mujeres is a year-round destination, but your experience changes with wind and storm patterns. The Atlantic hurricane season runs June through November, with the highest disruption risk typically late summer and early fall. Winter nortes (cold-front winds) can bring choppy seas and port closures even when skies are blue. Late spring and summer often mean warmer water and calmer windows for reefs, plus whale shark snorkeling opportunities when the regulated season is open.
