Getting There

Fly to Roatan (RTB), San Pedro Sula (SAP), or La Ceiba (LCE), then connect by ferry or domestic flight to Utila (UII). Dream Ferries runs La Ceiba-Utila daily in around 1 hour and seasonal Roatan-Utila runs; schedules vary by month.

Getting Around

No private cars for visitors. Get around by tuk tuk, scooter, ATV, bicycle, or golf cart rentals. Tuk tuks queue at the ferry dock and airport and are the simplest option.

Entry Requirements

Many nationalities, including US and most EU, receive 90 days visa free under CA 4. As of 2024-2025 multiple local sources report the immigration precheck form is no longer required, but requirements can change. Carry a passport valid 6 months and proof of onward travel.

Gear Logistics Checklist

Most shops include tanks and weights; nitrox widely available. Bring a DIN to yoke adapter if needed and spare o rings. Rinse tanks provided at shops; label personal gear.

Card acceptance varies; carry cash for tuk tuks and small eateries. Some operators quote in USD but change is usually in HNL.
