Wreck history, blue-water walls, and island adventure at the far edge of Dalmatia
Pick an activity mode to compare signature sites, skill fit, and gear planning notes before you lock your trip.
Vis offers a full Adriatic progression in one land-based trip: calm training water, rocky reefs, gorgonian walls, amphorae, caverns, and an exceptional archive of ship and aircraft wrecks. B-24 Diving Center in Komiza and Nautica Vis in Vis Town both describe options for beginners through technical and rebreather divers. The practical strength is not a single guaranteed site but weather-smart access to many alternatives. Teti can suit newer certified divers, while Vassilios, Fortunal, B-17, B-24, and other deep wrecks demand advanced or technical planning, cold-water protection, disciplined ascent procedures, and operator-managed permissions.
A recreational archaeological dive from about 6 m to 35 m where amphorae connect Vis to ancient Adriatic trade.
A sheltered western bay with shallow reef terrain to about 15 m.
A steamship wreck with accessible upper structure around 8 m and a deeper profile near 31 m.
A large cargo steamship lying on a steep slope from roughly 22 m toward 53 m.
A deep wreck and wall profile around 35 m to 52 m that rewards precise buoyancy, gas discipline, and a conservative ascent plan.
Operator Checklist
Book the operator before accommodation if deep wrecks are the trip priority. Send certification, recent-dive history, maximum training depth, equipment configuration, gas needs, and rebreather requirements in advance. B-24 advises pre-ordering mixed gases and specialist equipment; its published guidance recommends a 7mm suit and hood. Expect boat or shore starts, line descents on wrecks, and daily changes for wind. Protected wrecks and archaeological areas may require authorized-center procedures, so do not plan independent access.
