Wreck history, blue-water walls, and island adventure at the far edge of Dalmatia
Overview
Vis and Bisevo pair one of the Adriatic's richest wreck-diving archives with a relaxed, land-based island trip. Local centers in Komiza and Vis Town run day boats to shallow reefs, amphora fields, caverns, steep walls, and deep ship or aircraft wrecks, so Open Water divers can find adapted profiles while technical teams pursue sites beyond 50 m. Freedivers can arrange instructor-monitored line sessions from Komiza, and snorkelers get clear coves such as Okljucna, Srebrna, Stoncica, and Porat. Bisevo's Blue Cave is a boat-only sightseeing experience where swimming and diving are prohibited. The easiest all-round window is May through October, with the fullest schedules and warmest surface water from June through September. Build weather flexibility into every plan because exposed routes, wrecks, caves, and even ferry or Blue Cave operations can change with wind and sea state.
Steamships, military vessels, and aircraft create a rare progression from the recreational Teti wreck to deep technical targets such as Vassilios, Fortunal, B-17, and B-24 remains.
Sheltered bays, reefs, archaeology, walls, caverns, and wrecks let beginners and technical divers share one island base while following different profiles.
