Cable Bommie is a boat-access reef site near Home Island where old cable gear and winches lie beside coral growth, reef fish, and the bommie that gives the dive its name. The route mixes underwater relics with living reef structure, so the site feels as much like a coral dive as a piece of local maritime history. Most of the dive is spent around the bommie and surrounding reef before attention shifts toward the nearby ridge, where water movement can increase and larger animals are more likely to appear. Lionfish are regularly associated with the bommie, while grey reef sharks and manta rays are the better-known visitors when the outer edge is active.
